Junk Journaling Daily Practice
Creativebug — Class Launch Campaign
The Brief
The Junk Journaling Daily Practice is a 30-day class teaching beginners how to turn everyday ephemera — receipts, magazine clippings, packaging, stickers — into expressive journal spreads. The campaign challenge was to
make junk journaling feel genuinely exciting to someone who had never tried it, while also reassuring them that there was no wrong way to do it. The subject matter is inherently messy and personal, so the photography needed to capture that energy without feeling chaotic
or inaccessible.

The Process
Junk journaling as a subject presented a unique creative opportunity — the journals themselves are explosively colorful and eclectic, which meant the photography could afford to be more playful and varied than a typical craft shoot. Rather than imposing a single color palette, I let each journal spread drive its own composition, using props like scissors, pens, and washi tape to frame and contextualize each piece.
I collaborated with a photographer on set, conceiving the visual direction and styling all imagery. The designed assets — social graphics and email campaign — were built to extend the playful, eclectic energy of the photography into the digital touchpoints.
The Solution
A class launch campaign built around a cohesive series of overhead photography celebrating the variety and personality of junk journaling. Social graphics and email campaign extended the visual language of the shoot across digital channels, driving awareness and class sign-ups.
My Role
Conceived the visual direction and styled all photography in collaboration with a photographer. Designed all supporting digital assets including social graphics and email campaign.
